Taco Night in Lansdale is Alive
Taco Night in Lansdale is Alive
LANSDALE, PA > If you're a fan of Round Guys Brewing, then you're familiar with their "Taco Night in Lansdale". It's a day that most of us have participated in at some point, but all that changed when the pandemic hit and the entire Montgomery County Area shutdown.
At that point, the creative minds of Bill McGeeney and Phil Deaver, (Chef Phil) collaborated on a brand new concept. They created a weekly, live virtual cooking class that streams right from the Round Guys Facebook page. This taught viewers how to make gourmet tacos right from your own home! Each Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., Chef Phil popped on screen, and took you on a culinary journey. Guest appearances, and coloring pages (provided by local artists) were incorporated into the show. All the while, Chef Phil was cooking, explaining, and interviewing guests about quarantine, hobbies, interests, and what they were doing prior to the pandemic shutdown. For me, it became a scheduled part of my Tuesday.
I have had the honor of both my artwork be a coloring page with musician Michael LaBella, and was the first to do a live painting along with a live taco tasting a few weeks back. Let me tell you, these tacos are excellent.
Now in this yellow/green phase, you can find Chef Phil with his cooking set up and vibrant energy, live on the patio at Round Guys, cooking and teaching a new recipe every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
As summer begins to wind down, and the days start to become shorter, I highly suggest making a stop at Round Guys for "Taco Night in Lansdale". Sit on the patio, grab a cold, refreshing beer, or one of their new seltzers, and take in the sounds of summer and of course, tacos.
